This Windhoek B&B is teetering on the edge of the wilderness, this is the last (well, almost, naah, not quite…) civilised stop before the equator. A sparkling pool lures hot bods in for a splosh and 10 airy twin or double rooms promise a sound night’s pre-trek sleep. They have a silly dog, dilly child and DSTV, a shady garden, a veranda for skulling Rivendell Reds, a DIY braai area and a large kitchen. Specialising in tailor-made itineraries, their travel centre is open 15 hours a day and books scheduled safaris, car hire and accommodation throughout the region.
