• Game Parks

Africa is a wild continent and Southern Africa has fought hard to save her wildlife. A multitude of game parks pepper the area ranging from the impossibly exclusive to the downright affordable. A trip to the Kruger National Park is well worth while – although it is by no means the only game park worth visiting. This icon tells you that you're within game park visiting distance.
  • Nature in South Africa

There is lots of it. And most of it is protected so there are huge tracts of unspoilt loveliness that will have any nature lover coming back for more. This icon indicates naturally beautiful areas away from any major civilisation.

Planet Baobab,
Gweta,
Botswana

Stay in a traditional style village shaded by baobabs and visit the salt pans.

Starry nights
Fly camp beneath star-spangled heavens and count shooting stars instead of sheep.
Directions
Travel towards Gweta. (290km from Francistown, 200km from Maun.)
Live amongst the Baobabs

This funky, traditionally-styled Bakalanga village is worthwhile. If only to feel what it’s like to be shaded by 17 giant Baobabs and to swim in the coolest swimming pool in the Makgadikgadi.
Drive, fly or get dropped off at the giant aardvark and simply walk in…
Once there, get to grips with the action on offer.
All year round you can go on village visits, archaeological explorations, bushwalks and get close to habituated meerkats.
In the dry season, they offer awesome quad bike excursions across saltpans where there’s nothing to crash into until you drop off the edge of the earth.
In the wet season, see the incredible zebra migration.
Wash away the day’s heat under the freshest, wettest showers in the Kalahari and then breeze along to the funky Afro bar and grab a snack or dive into one of the many Pan-African favourites nabbed from Cape to Cairo and cooked up with great gusto.
Later, watch a soul-soaring sunset from your bed in a Baobab hut or the shade of the campsite.
Later still, watch the moon take centre stage and dance with her

 Feeling lucky?
