• Nature in South Africa

There is lots of it. And most of it is protected so there are huge tracts of unspoilt loveliness that will have any nature lover coming back for more. This icon indicates naturally beautiful areas away from any major civilisation.

The original Wilderness Backpackers

Escape life’s hamster wheel at this laidback backpackers with its bush lodge vibe. It’s near both the beach and the beauty of the national park where you can blaze a trail up to a waterfall to picnic, swim or zzzzz to the sound of nature-filled silence.
For your action fix, grab a nearby paraglide, canoe or horse ride, or retire to the lawns of Fairy Knowe for a spot of volleyball, badminton, bicycling or soccer.
Once a Victorian homestead, the rooms are accordingly spacious with views overlooking the neighbouring national park. You can also set up camp under the milkwoods or choose one of two separate thatched en-suites if more purrrrrivacy is your thing.
Once you’re choc-full of nature, check out the cosy DSTV lounge and free internet. Or, if you’re in the mood to jol, head for the thatched entertainment area, throw out all Victorian etiquette out the window and p-p-party on.

Yum.
