• Jolling

Jolling is a wonderful Afrikaans word for PARTYwhy-because-you-canING. And there’s lots of it in Southern Africa because the people are friendly , the beer is cheap and the nightlife whatever you want it to be. This icon tells you when to put on your dancing shoes.
  • Baz Bus Backpacker Bus

The Baz Bus backpacker bus is a hop-on’ hop-off backpackers bus that has a variety of routes around South Africa. It’s an easy way to get from A to B and a fun way to meet other travellers.
  • Whale watching

Southern Right whales visit in winter, and many other whales are found along our shores.

Amakaya is very close to the Plett action

As popular as ever, Amakaya means “home”, so move in and make yourself at home! The rooms are serviced daily and the bathrooms are kept squeaky clean (just like Mama likes ‘em) with liquid handsoap and fresh towels.
Amakaya is only 800m from Central Beach and 300m from central Plett so slipping off to shops, restaurants and bars is easy peasy. It’s fully equipped for self-catering with 2 braai areas, a communal lounge and outside fire-pit with hammocks. Relax in their upstairs bar or chill out on a large veranda and enjoy the awesome mountains and sea views. That said, Plett’s not designed for homebodies, as Amakaya’s Adventure Centre well knows - so they’ll help you plan some sweet adventures (see the checklist below) and then keep the home fires burning for your return…
