One of the top 10 dive sites globally, Aliwal Shoal offers possibly the best Tiger Shark experience in the world. But if diving nose to nose with Tiger Sharks doesn’t float your BC, don’t worry, the shoal also boasts abundant marine life, varying dive depths, wrecks and reefs. With anything from nudibranchs to manta rays, whale sharks and raggies waiting to meet you, every dive is a lucky packet full of surprises.
Established over 15 years ago, Aliwal Dive Centre has loads of experience. They run a one-stop-dive-and-sleep-shop that offers PADI courses, dives, nitrox fills, gear hire and comfy beds in their own lodge.
The dive shop is on the ground floor of the lodge. Upstairs you’ll find en suite dorms and king-sized luxury rooms with air-con. They also have internet facilities, a bar and a coffee shop. A full cooked breakfast is included in the bed price.
Psst. Just in case there’s a chill in the air (on the South Coast??) the swimming pool is heated.
