Tsumeb Tsumeb is the gateway to Etosha National Park and Northern Namibia. Tsumeb was founded on the site of a mine that has been exploited since prehistoric times. The volcanic pipe that surfaces here carries copper, zinc and lead and contains around 184 different minerals, crystals and oxides, 10 of which are unique to Tsumeb. Lake Otjikoto, one of Namibia’s few natural lakes, is nearby, and Bushmanland, home to the San people, is north of here.
