Sesriem/Soussusvlei The wonderful sand dunes you see in all National Geographic pictures are located here. There is no backpacker but you can camp. Make sure to take along water. You should book well in advance, but try your luck and just turn up. Magical Soussusvlei is really something and well worth the drive. The dunes are about a 5km walk from the car park AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE WATER or you will die in that sun. Get naked. Take lotza photos. Feel like the first person to ever walk on earth.
