Maxixe Mozambique
Maxixe in Mozambique is a busy harbour across the bay from Inhambane.
Situated on the main road between Maputo and Vilanculos, Maxixe is a bustling harbour. Most of the traffic crosses the bay to Inhambane, which is an hour and a half away by road but 15 minutes by motor boat. Sail the bay in a dhow, buy your fish still wriggling from the fish market and your veggies still growing from the roadside vendors. There’s a supermarket here too if you’d rather eat peanut butter and sardines...
