Lubanzi A large area villages along the Transkei coast with breathtaking views About Lubanzi Mpame, a large area of villages, spreads along the coastline and is famous for its fantastic shore fishing. A river estuary flows past the south side of Mpame forest and is the breading ground for a large variety of fish. The birdlife around the estuary is diverse and fish eagles and kingfishers can often be spotted. Ideal for nature lovers, reefs dot the coastline and snorkeling and diving here is a must. The village is amaXhosa and the culture is strong as most of the area has poor road access so cultural heritage and history is a big part of daily life. Lubanzi means “wide and deep” to describe the breathtaking views of the Lubanzi cliff that leads to Hole in the Wall. Places to Stay
