Claremont This is one of Cape Town's older suburbs which has a well developed entertainment and shopping infrastructure. There are no backpackers here. Shop till you drop. Whether it’s sport at Newlands or shopping at Cavendish Square, the upmarket suburb of Claremont is a microcosm of Cape Town. It’s the perfect place for credit cards that have been sitting too long in a money belt. Cavendish Square and the Link are designer shopping heaven. Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are close by and you are on the road to the warm Indian Ocean and scenic Cape Point. There are no real backpackers here but there is a choice of budget accommodation.
